HOW IT HAPPENED:
- VCU opened the scoring just 48 seconds into the game on a free position attempt by McTavish
- The two teams struggled to find an offensive rhythm early and were tied 1-1 with 22:57 left in the first half after a Longwood goal by Johnson
- The Rams then took control of the game with five unanswered goals with Marosi's goal giving VCU a 6-1 lead with 17:33 left before halftime
- Overall, VCU outscored Longwood 8-1 to end the half and led the Lancers 9-2 at the break
- The Rams cruised to the win by outscoring Longwood 11-6 in the second half
