HOW IT HAPPENED:Â

- The first quarter was a defensive battle, with ODU recording the only shot on target and Elliott made the save
- The Monarchs opened the scoring in the 28th minute and led 1-0 at the half on a goal by Taylor Riley
- Van Hijfte evened the score at 1-1 in the 32nd minute on an assist from Wetzel
- The Rams briefly pulled in front in the 46h minute 2-1 on a goal from Hughes but ODU evened the score at 2-2 less than two minutes later
- In the final minutes of the fourth period with the score tied at 2-2, Elliott came made a strong sliding save to preserve the tie and send the game into overtime
- With just over a minute left in the overtime period, Sturm pushed past a defender and shot behind the keeper from the right wing to send give the Rams the a 3-2 winÂ
