The Short Story: VCU Women's Tennis defeated ETSU in a dominant 4-0 sweep Saturday morning at the Thalhimer Tennis Center.

OPENING SERVE

• Competing in the No. 3 position, junior Shivani Manjana and freshman Alessia Ciuca earned the first match win of the day for the Rams with a dominant 6-1 victory over ETSU's pairing of senior Alejandra Morales and freshman Maria Fernanda Carvajal.
• No. 116 Senior Paola Diaz-Delgado and graduate Noumea Witmus secured the doubles point and with 6-2 victory in the No. 2 position. The pair improved to 4-1 in doubles competition this season.
• Sophomore Luminita Tutunaru made quick work of her opponent and secured the first singles victory of the match for the Rams in the No. 2 position. Tutunaru won in straight sets 6-4, 7-5.
• Freshman Alessia Ciuca downed ETSU senior Andrea Pascual-Larrinaga 6-3, 7-6 to give the Rams a commanding 3-0 match lead.
• Davidescu earned a resilient three-set victory to close out the match. Competing in the No. 4 position, the sophomore defeated Alfaro 6-3, 1-6, 6-4.
