The short story: Freshman middle blocker Kylie Loftis led a strong VCU defensive effort with nine blocks and six kills Monday at the Siegel Center.
 
FIRST SERVE
  • Loftis racked up four blocks and a pair of kills in the first set as VCU earned a 25-15 win. She hit .385 in the match
  • Freshman middle Lauren King added seven blocks and five kills for the Rams, while sophomore outside hitter Qairo Bentley turned in a team-high seven kills. She hit .294
  • VCU's Paula Neciporuka also supplied six kills, 12 digs and five blocks
  • Jewel Clark paced the Patriots with seven kills

  • VCU continues to pile up blocks. The Rams registered 14 more on Monday, compared to George Mason's five
  • The Rams held Mason to an .075 hitting percentage in the match. The Patriots did not hit better than .088 in any set
