VCU WOMENS TENNIS SIGNS VICTORIA MATASOVA

Richmond, Va. - Victoria Matasova has signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the VCU Women's Tennis program in the Fall of 2022, Head Coach Vivian Segnini announced Tuesday.
 
A native of Malye Kabany, Russia Matasova is currently no. 181 in both the ITF Junior Singles and Doubles rankings.
 
"We are excited to have Victoria here at VCU next Fall. She is very serious about her development and has the mindset and work ethic that will fit our culture. I can't wait to help her develop and achieve her goals." Segnini said.
 
Matasova joins the Rams after achieving a thorough record of results in her junior career. She won the Russian Team Championship at the U14, U16, U18 levels and earned a third-place finish in singles at the U14 Russian National Championship. Matasova finished as singles champion of the ITF Grade four tournament in Karaganda, Kazakhstan, and a Grade five event in Cairo, Egypt. She has also seen significant success in doubles earning six ITF titles.
 
Matasova is the third signing for the Fall of 2022 joining Anastasia and Victoria Smirnova who will join as transfers.
