The Short Story: VCU trailed just 52-47 with 9:10 remaining before a 9-2 run by UNC allowed the Tar Heels to pull away for the win.

• Chloe Bloom chipped in 11 points and five rebounds
• Madison Hattix-Covington and Sarah Te-Biasu each had eight points
• UNC was led by Alyssa Ustby who posted 23 points and 10 rebounds
• The Tar Heels shot 42.2 percent from the floor while the Rams shot 34.8 percent

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

• VCU took a 7-4 lead on UNC with 6:11 left in the first quarter, marking the first time the Tar Heels have trailed this season
• The Tar Heels closed the quarter on a 10-2 run to lead 14-9 at the end of the first quarter
• The Rams and UNC played a back-and-forth second quarter and UNC led 34-29 at the half
• Early in the third quarter, Taya Robinson went on a personal 9-2 run to give VCU a 39-38 lead with 5:57 remaining. Robinson hit two 3-pointers during the run
• After taking a 50-45 lead into the fourth quarter, the Tar Heels then used their fourth quarter 9-2 run to take the win
