HOW IT HAPPENED:Â
- VCUÂ led 10-8 late in the first quarter before a Townes jumper sparked a 7-0 run for the Rams and gave them a 17-8 lead. VCU led 17-10 after the first quarter
- The Rams extended their lead in second quarter to 15 at halftime, leading 35-20, after holding the Monarchs to 36.4 percent shooting. The Rams shot 50 percent from the floor in the quarter to take the lead into half
- VCU went on a 14-0 run that spanned both the second and third quarter and was capped off by a Te-Biasu layup. The run gave the Rams a 43-20 lead with 7:27 left in the quarter
- ODU never got closer than a 17-point deficit in the fourth quarter as VCU cruised to the win
