The Short Story: The Rams had four players score in double figures and VCU led wire-to-wire in the win.

OPENING TIP: 
  • Janika Griffith-Wallace scored a team-high 16 points along with five steals and four assists
  • Chloe Bloom recorded a double-double, the third of her career, with 12 points and a team-high 11 rebounds
  • Taya Robinson scored 12 points and added six rebounds while Sarah Te-Biasu had 14 points and six rebounds
  • VCU led NCCU 23-11 in points off turnovers and outscored the Eagles 13-5 ins second chance points
  • The Rams shot 34.9 percent from the floor but limited NCCU to shoot just 17.5 percent overall and a paltry 6.7 percent from 3-point range (1-of-15)
  • The Eagles were led by Tianna Carter who scored 10 points and grabbed six rebounds
HOW IT HAPPENED: 
  • VCU opened the game on an 8-0 run capped off by a Robinson 3-pointer and led 18-8 at the end of the first quarter
  • The Eagles and Rams played a back-and-forth second quarter as VCU maintained its 10-point lead at 30-20 at the half
  • VCU went on a 12-4 run early in the third quarter to push its lead to 42-25 after a pair of Griffith-Wallace free throws
  • The Rams pushed their lead to as many as 30 points and led 64-34 with 2:56 remaining in the fourth quarter
