Jasmine Knight led VCU with 15 kills and seven blocks in a road win at Davidson Friday night.

OPENING VOLLEY
- Knight committed just three hitting errors in 32 attempts and hit .375 for the Black and Gold
- Freshman outside hitter Kialah Jefferson fired a match-high 19 kills on the evening. She added seven digs for VCU
- Graduate outside hitter Jovana Vukcevic continued her late-season surge with 13 kills and three blocks for the Rams, while hitting .281
- Senior libero Alyna Draper added 24 digs, while freshman setter Katrina Davis dished out 48 assists for the Rams
- Sola Omonije led Davidson with 13 kills
THE DIFFERENCE
- VCU dominated the latter stages of the match. The Rams held the Wildcats to a -.029 hitting percentage in the third set, a 25-10 VCU blowout. The fourth and final set wasn't much better for Davidson. The Wildcats hit .114 with eight errors
- The Rams held advantages in virtually every statistical category. VCU owned a sizable 86-65 edge in digs and an 11-8 margin in blocks. The Rams also held the Wildcats to one service ace. VCU served up four aces, including two by Draper
- The first set featured 12 ties and six lead changes, before VCU emerged with a hard-fought 31-29 victory. The Rams fought off three set points before kills by Davis and sophomore middle blocker Kylie Loftis helped VCU score the final three points of the frameÂ

- VCU is 15-1 against Davidson since the Wildcats joined the Atlantic 10 Conference in 2014
- Friday's win serves as the front end of this weekend's home-and-home series with Davidson, and allowed VCU to keep pace with Saint Louis in the race for the A-10's No. 2 overall seed

VCU will host Davidson at the Stuart C. Siegel Center on Sunday, Oct. 31 at 1 p.m. The Rams will also honor their senior class prior to that contest.
