The Short Story:Â In a hard-fought game that was played entirely within a six-point margin,
Tera Reed hit a 3-pointer with 27 seconds left in overtime to put VCU up 65-59 and secure the victory. The game was VCU's first since Dec. 20, a 19-day span due to a holiday break.

- Four Rams scored in double figures with Tera Reed scoring 16 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists
- Sydnei Archie was just shy of recording a double-double with 14 points, nine rebounds and three steals

HOW IT HAPPENED
- VCU started the game on a 6-0 run as the Rams scored off three Duquesne turnovers
- The Dukes then went on an 11-3 run before an Archie layup tied the game at 11-11 at the end of the first quarter
- Duquesne went up 20-15 on VCU before a 14-3 run from VCU capped by a pair of Madison Hattix-Covington free throws gave the Rams a 29-23 lead with 2:03 left before halftime
- The Dukes closed the half on a 5-0 run to cut VCU's lead to 29-28 at the half
- The third quarter had six lead changes and two ties as VCU held a 45-42 lead going into the fourth quarter
- VCU pulled ahead at 51-45 lead after a Reed layup with 5:23 left in the fourth but the Dukes had a 6-0 run to tie the game at 51-51 with 3:49 remaining
- The Rams edged back in front and clung to a slim lead at 56-53 until Myers hit a 3-pointer to force overtime with eight seconds remaining
- The Rams never trailed during the overtime period and Tera Reed scored five straight points including a 3-pointer that pushed VCU's lead to 65-59
- Sarah Te-Biasu went 5-of-6 from the free throw line in overtime as well to help VCU to the win
