VCU WOMEN'S TENNIS HOSTS PAIR OF MATCHES IN HOME-OPENING WEEKEND

VCU will play at 12 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. on Sunday

RICHMOND, Va. – VCU Women's Tennis will play Furman and Temple in its home-opening weekend 2020-21 season. The Rams will face Furman at 12 p.m. on Saturday and will square off against Temple at 10 a.m. Sunday. The matches will be played at the Thalhimer Tennis Center and will not be open to the public.
 
The Rams are looking to bounce back from their first loss of the season to No. 14 Virginia on Thursday.
 
Despite the loss, Senior Paola Diaz-Delgado and Graduate Noumea Witmus picked up a victory in doubles play and are looking to improve on their perfect record this season.
 
Diaz-Delgado, ranked No. 116 in the ITA preseason rankings, is aiming to rebound after suffering her first loss of the season to No. 80 ranked Emma Navarro of Virginia.
 
Furman comes into Saturday's match at 0-3 following losses to Auburn, Tennessee and Mississippi.
 
Paladin's senior Katarina Kozarov was ranked No. 15 preseason rankings.
 
Temple enters Sunday having yet to play a match this season. The Owls were 5-6 in 2019-20. VCU has won the last seven matches between the two teams, including a 4-0 victory last season.
 
VCU is 7-3 in home-opening matches dating back to the 2010-11 season.
