Tera Reed scored 18 points and VCU Women's Basketball overcame a slow start to beat George Washington 67-60 on Wednesday afternoon at the Siegel Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- VCU started the game slow on the offensive end, shooting just 2-of-17 from the field in the first quarter and trailed the Colonials 14-8 going into the second
- GW had extended its lead to 24-14 when VCU forced a turnover and Reed converted a layup to spark a 17-3 run. The run lasted til the halftime break and gave the Rams a 31-27 lead
- Leading 44-41 at the 2:52 mark of the third quarter, VCU went on 9-2 run capped by a Te-Biasu 3-pointer that gave VCU a 53-43 lead at the end of the third quarter
- The Colonials cut the Rams' lead to 61-56 with 2:18 left in the game, but the VCU defense held steady allowing just five points in the final 4:31 of the contest
