RICHMOND, Va. – VCU Women's Tennis will open up the 2020-21 season 1:30 p.m. Saturday against Elon.
 
VCU enters the new season seeking its third-straight Atlantic 10 title. The Rams were 1-0 in A-10 play in 2019-20 before competition was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
 
Senior Paola Diaz-Delgado headlines the Rams roster. Diaz-Delgado appeared at No. 116 in the ITA preseason rankings after posting an 18-9 singles record and a 9-5 doubles record during her junior campaign.
 
Graduate Noumena Witmus returns this season for VCU. Witmus was named to the All-Atlantic 10 Second Team following the 2018-19 season and tallied a perfect 6-0 doubles record in dual matches last season. 
 
The match will mark the first for head coach Vivian Segnini who took over in August following the retirement of legendary coach Paul Kostin. Segnini served as a graduate assistant for the Rams during the 2018-19 season.
