RICHMOND, Va. – The VCU Men's Tennis program will pause all team activities due to COVID-19 protocols within the program, the team announced Wednesday. 
 
The season opening match at Virginia on Jan. 16 has been canceled. In addition, the team will not travel to Dallas for the SMU invitational scheduled for Jan. 22-24. The Rams will now open the season on Jan. 29 at Kentucky.
 
VCU athletics follows Atlantic 10 Conference, Virginia Commonwealth University and Virginia Department of Health guidelines to prioritize the safety of student-athletes, coaches and staff as well as the VCU community.
 
The program will resume team activities once all personnel clear COVID-19 protocols.
