RICHMOND, Va. – The VCU Student Athlete Advisory Board (SAAC) and VCU Athletics are excited to announce the launching of the Rams Vote Initiative. Rams Vote seeks to coordinate voter engagement through the use of registrations drives, education and voter rights awareness with the goal of engaging student-athletes, staff and fans in the voting process. VCU Athletics has partnered with Secure the Ballot for the initiative.
 
VCU SAAC will host a series of four student voter registration drives on VCU's campus. The drives will be held in the lobby of the Siegel Center. Student will have the opportunity to register to vote on provided laptops.
 
VOTER REGISTRATION DRIVE DATES

• Thursday, September 10 (4 p.m. to 8 p.m.)
• Tuesday, September 22: National Voter Registration Day (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
• Friday, October 9 (9 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
• Tuesday, October 13 (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.)

 
VCU Athletics is hosting an online voter registration to also engage fans in the process. Fans are encouraged to go to VCUAthletics.com/vote to register through Secure the Ballot.
 
Election Day is November 3, 2020 and VCU Athletics and SAAC encourage all students and fans to participate. As Election Day has been declared a holiday for Governor Northam, VCU will close to encourage voter participation.
