• The Monarchs opened up the afternoon clinching the doubles point. Shivani Manjanna and Kanako Yano battled in No. 2 doubles before dropping the match 6-4.
• In No. 1 doubles, Luminita Tutunaru and Melissa Ifidzhen fought against No. 7 Yulia Starodubtseva and Alesya Yakubovich in a match that did not finish.
• Paola Exposito Diaz-Delgado improved to 9-3 on the spring season with a convincing 4-6, 6-1, 10-6 over No. 38 Holly Hutchinson.
• VCU fell to 0-4 against nationally ranked opponents
