HOW IT HAPPENED

- The Rams responded with an unearned run of its own in the top of the second to cut the lead in half. Steven Carpenter worked a one-out walk and later scored from first on a Tar Heels throwing error.
- After three scoreless innings, Carolina's bats heated up in the bottom of the sixth when it scored four runs by way of two home runs to extend its lead 6-1.
- Once again the Rams responded, cutting into the Carolina lead 6-3 in the top of the seventh. Liam Hibbits set the tone for the inning, working a leadoff walk that was followed by a Henson double to put runners on second and third with no outs. Hibbits took advantage of a wild pitch and Henson was driven home on an RBI single from Carpenter.
