VCU COMPLETES COMEBACK WIN AGAINST BUFFALO

The Short Story: VCU trailed 50-44 with 6:13 remaining but outscored Buffalo 17-5 down the stretch to complete the comeback win in its home opener.

  • The second quarter featured three ties and three lead changes as Buffalo held a 30-27 advantage at halftime
  • The Bulls held a slight lead until a 3-pointer from Hattix-Covington and made jumper from Janika Griffith-Wallace put VCU back in front 38-36 with 3:52 left in the third
  • Buffalo retook the lead with a 7-0 run and led 43-40 heading into the fourth quarter
  • The Black and Gold trailed by as many as six points twice in the fourth quarter before going on a 17-5 run to close the game
  • Te-Biasu scored 10 of VCU's final 17 points
