RAMS SINK PIRATES IN ROUTE TO SECOND WIN OF THE SEASON

The Short Story: After getting the doubles point, the Rams controlled their respective singles matches in route to their second win of the season.

OPENING SERVE

  • Paola Exposito Diaz-Delgado and Noumea Witmus improved to 3-0 on the season as doubles teammates after they defeated Nastia Rettich and Michelle Ncube 6-2.
  • Luminita Tutunaru and Gabriela Davidescu faced a tough Pirate duo in Lisa Hofbauer and Sibel Tanik. After a back and forth match, the VCU freshman prevailed winning 6-4 and clinching the doubles point.
  • Melissa Ifidzhen capped the afternoon off with a 6-2, 6-4 singles win to give the Rams the victory.
  • Freshman Gabriela Ana-Maria Davidescu notched her third singles victory over Michelle Ncube 6-4, 6-3.
  • Luminita Tutunaru secured her first collegiate singles win defeating Sibel Tanik 6-2, 6-4
  • Paola Exposito Diaz-Delgado improved to 3-0 in singles with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Lisa Hofbauer
