The Short Story: VCU opened up the new season cruising past Temple as the veteran Rams dominated the Owls.  

OPENING SERVE

• The junior combination of Melissa Ifidzhen and Kanako Yano set the tone early in the doubles matches defeating Oyku Boz and Yining Tian by a score of 6-3.
• Senior Noumea Witmus and sophomore Paola Exposito Diaz-Delgado made quick work of Rine Nozaki and Cecilia Castelli in route to a 6-1 win to earn VCU the doubles point.
• Freshman Gabriela Ana-Maria Davidescu notched her first collegiate singles win after defeating Yining Tian 6-0, 6-3.
• The Rams controlled the afternoon by winning two doubles matches before the third match could conclude as well as winning three singles matches before the remaining three could finish.
