The short story: For the second consecutive day, VCU women's tennis defeated a team from a power five conference on the road. The Rams defeated West Virginia 4-2 behind great performances in both singles and doubles.
OPENING SERVE
- Junior Anna Rasmussen and freshman Melissa Ifidzhen won their third straight doubles match, their team-high eighth of the season, without dropping a game to guide VCU to the doubles point.
- Freshman Paola Exposito Diaz Delgado sprinted to a straight-set victory at No. 2 singles, defeating Ann-Sophie Courteau 6-2, 6-0.
- Rasmussen carried her dominance to No. 1 singles, defeating Christina Jordan 6-4, 6-1.
- Sophomore Noumea Witmus earned the match-clinching point for the second straight match, taking down Giovanna Caputo 7-6, 6-0.
