The short story: The Rams did not drop a set in a 5-0 sweep of Campbell on Saturday afternoon to wrap up the VCU 4-1 Invitational.
OPENING SERVE
- Freshman Paola Exposito Diaz Delgado won all 12 games in a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Lea Cutura at No. 2 singles. Diaz Delgado only dropped three games across four sets throughout the VCU 4-1 Invitational.
- Sophomore Noumea Witmus and freshman Melissa Ifidzhen defeated Lou Regen and Pauline Roustan 6-4, 6-0 in their first doubles pairing of the season.
- Junior Anna Rasmussen came from behind to take the second set in a 6-0, 6-4 victory over Ana Castillo and clinch the match for VCU.
- Freshman Marina Alcaide Bakkari and sophomore Kanako Yano rounded out the sweep with straight-set victories, defeating Alexandra Nicoara and Georgina Segarra, respectively.
