The short story: The Rams earned the first point of the match in doubles play, but after a tough battle VCU fell to Penn State 4-3 Friday evening at the Sarni Tennis Center. Sophomore Arvid Noren continues to be a force to be reckoned with for the Rams. He picked up a win in both doubles and singles play and is now a perfect 6-0 in dual matches this season.
FIRST SERVE
- Senior Daryl Monfils earned a point for the Rams and won his singles match in consecutive sets. The veteran holds a 7-3 overall record in singles play this season.
- Noren also won in consecutive sets in singles play. He defeated Penn State's Ben Lieb, 6-4, 6-4.
- Sophomores Vitor Lima and Philip Mobius picked up a win in doubles play. The pair owns a 6-5 overall record thus far.
- Junior Louis Ishizaka and Noren paired up on the doubles court as well. The duo went on to defeat Penn State's David Kohan and Henry Gordon, 6-3.
