The short story: Sophomore middle Jasmin Sneed produced eight blocks to highlight a stout VCU defensive effort as the Rams rumbled past George Washington and to their 17^th consecutive victory Friday night.

OPENING VOLLEY

• Four players registered at least four blocks for the Rams. In addition to Sneed, junior outside hitter Julia Adler produced five blocks, while sophomore outside Vicky Giommarini and junior middle Tori Baldwin added four apiece.
• With nowhere to hit offensively, George Washington hit just .107 in the match.
• Not to be outdone, senior libero Rebekah Strange patrolled the back row to the tune of 17 digs for VCU. Strange also served up a pair of aces.
• Sophomore outside hitter Gina Tuzzolo led the VCU offense with nine kills while hitting .333. Giommarini added eight kills.
• Kelsey Clark was a bright spot for the Colonials. She supplied nine kills.

THE DIFFERENCE

• The Black and Gold outblocked George Washington 12.5-5.0.
• VCU's superior blocking was, in large part, responsible for George Washington's 26 hitting errors.
• The Rams committed just three service errors, while the Colonials fired nine.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• VCU's 17^th-match win streak is the nation's longest active streak.
• The Rams have swept all six of their conference matches.
• With Friday's victory, the Rams surpassed their victory total from all of last season.
• VCU's win allowed the Rams to keep pace with Dayton (6-0), which also won Friday night.
