QUOTABLES
- "It was a great by our guys in a total team effort. Sean Thompson really battled and grinded through six innings, keeping them in check. Sam Donko was dominant in the back end. I thought we did a good job of grinding it out against [Cougars' starting pitcher] Nathan Helvey. Mickelson, Bunn and Jimmy Kerrigan all had multiple hits. We played flawless defense with no errors. We're really exciting with the way we competed tonight and are looking forward to getting back after it tomorrow." – Head Coach Shawn Stiffler
- "First off it was a great win for us as a team. It showed how many weapons we have both offensively and on defense. It was great for our confidence. I thought our defense was outstanding tonight, which really helped me be able to settle down. I felt like I made pitches at the right times tonight. That allowed for some success out there. Sam Donko was great out of the pen and really took over the game. Overall, I'd say this win was really important for our team as a whole. We showed that we can compete with anybody." - Starting Pitcher Sean Thompson
