The short story: Anna Rasmussen and Janina Braun each picked up singles victories and teamed together for a doubles win, but VCU fell to East Carolina Saturday at Thalhimer Tennis Center.
FIRST SERVE
- Rasmussen played just her second match this year on the No. 1 singles court, but topped Celia Ruiz with relative ease 7-5, 6-1.
- Braun, meanwhile ran past Michelle Castro 6-3, 6-3. Braun improved to 5-3 this spring with the win.
- Rasmussen and Braun joined forces on the No. 2 doubles court, where they knocked off Maria Storozheva and Sarah Sarjoo 7-5.
