The short story: Freshmen Anna Rasmussen and Magda Aubets closed the match with three-set victories to rally VCU past Liberty Friday at the Cook Tennis Center.
 
FIRST SERVE
  • Aubets clinched the match for VCU on the No. 3 singles court when she battled back from a disastrous first set to earn a 1-6, 6-3, 6-2 victory over Evangeline Crist.
  • Moments earlier, Rasmussen outlasted Belen Rivera 6-1, 1-6, 7-5 on the No. 2 court to tie the match.
  • The victory snaps VCU's two-match losing streak.
  • All four of VCU's singles victories Friday were produced by freshmen.
