The Short Story: Sophomore forward Justin Tillman exploded for a career-high 27 points and VCU shot 61 percent from the field, its highest in six years, on the way to an 88-54 dismantling of Fordham Wednesday at the Siegel Center. It's VCU's seventh straight victory.
THE DIFFERENCE
- VCU never trailed in the contest, and used a 20-2 run to close out the first half – punctuated by a running, buzzer-beating 3-pointer by Jonathan Williams – and assume command at 47-19.
- Tillman hit 11-of-14 shots from the field and grabbed 10 rebounds to collect his third career double-double.
- The Black and Gold shot .611 (33-of-54) from the field, VCU's highest mark since Jan. 27, 2010, when it shot .631 (41-of-65) in a 112-53 win over Towson.
- VCU also hit 10-of-20 from beyond the 3-point arc.

- VCU feasted on 18 Fordham turnovers, outscoring their opponent 28-8 off miscues. The Black and Gold also controlled the paint to the tune of a 44-24 scoring advantage.
- Senior Melvin Johnson added 15 points and three steals for VCU. He hit 3-of-6 three-pointers. Senior Korey Billbury chipped in with 10 points, while junior JeQuan Lewis dished out seven of VCU's season-high 23 assists.
