The Basics

• The Short Story: Freshman Emily McNamara scored a goal in her third straight game for the Rams, but it would not be enough as VCU fell to the Bobcats 3-2 at Cary Street Field. Sophomore Jamee Albright notched her third goal of the season as well for the Black & Gold. 

How It Happened

• Ohio took an early 1-0 lead, scoring off of a corner in the 29^th minute.
• Ten minutes later, McNamara found the back of the cage on an assist from Spencer Tossone and Natalie Bohmke to tie the match.
• A barrage of VCU shots nearly led to a score in the final five minutes of the half.  Kendall Farino missed a shot wide off of a corner. McNamara almost created a goal of her own, weaving through defenders less than a minute later.
• Ohio controlled the second half, attacking early to take the lead. Two Bobcat goals, scored minutes apart, quickly made it a 3-1 contest.
• VCU was able to cut into the lead late when Krystal Mayers fed her own rebound to Jamee Albright for the score.
• Despite, a late surge, the Rams were unable to come from behind and pull out the victory.
