  • The Short Story: VCU field hockey lost their Atlantic-10 Conference home opener Friday night, falling 3-0 against rival Davidson.

How It Happened

  • Down one early, VCU scored a would-be game-tying goal, but Lauren Kaup's first collegiate score was waived off on a corner call. The Rams were unable to gain it back on the play.
  • VCU nearly scored on a flurry of shots in the 2nd minute which resulted in another corner.
  • The Rams were unable to tie the game before the half, and after the break Davidson found the cage two more time to seal the win.
