The Short Story: Despite freshman Lauren Kaup's hat trick, Saint Joseph's fired a shot in sudden victory overtime to snap VCU's win streak.
How It Happened:
- Saint Joseph's got on the board first off a corner in the 10th minute.
- The Rams responded five minutes later as Kaup found the back of the cage for her first collegiate goal.
- Not long into the second half, Kaup tipped in a shot from Taleah Scott to give the Rams a 2-1 advantage.
- The Hawks evened the match in the 51st minute after a scramble in front of the cage following a corner.
- Minutes later, Kaup continued her hot streak. Colleen Rogers dribbled through defenders and fed the ball to Kaup, who completed the hat trick allowing the Rams to retake the lead.
- In overtime, Saint Joseph's Jenny Morris fired a shot that got past Chessa Kownurko to take a 4-3 victory.
