The Short Story: The Rams hosted the Longwood Lancers on Friday in their final home game of the season. It was Senior Night at Cary Street Field and VCU was able to send Kendall Clifton, Kendall Farino, and Taleah Scott off with a 2-0 victory in their final game in front of a Black & Gold crowd.
How it Happened
- VCU and Longwood battled for possession to start the contest, with each team creating chances inside the circle.
- VCU took a 1-0 advantage when freshman Emily McNamara scored her team-high 7th goal of the season off of a corner taken by Scott. The senior leads the team in assists (6) with McNamara trailing by one.
- Jamee Albright provided the insurance, with her 6th score of the season. Albright finished a blocked shot from McKenzie Bowler to give the Rams a 2-0 advantage.
- Clifton had a strong night in the cage making five saves en route to her 3rd career shutout.
