The Short Story: The Rams hosted UNC at Cary Street Field on Sunday. The third ranked Tar Heels took a 2-0 lead into the break and added three more in the second half to defeat VCU 5-1.

How it Happened

  • UNC jumped out to an early lead scoring their first goal in the 11th minute and added a second before the half.
  • The Tar Heels continued to move the ball into the VCU end, tacking on three more scores in the second half.
  • The Rams tried to get things going on offense, but had a tough time breaking through against a tough UNC defense.
  • Jamee Albright scored her fifth goal of the season to cut into the UNC lead. She now trails Emily McNamara by a score for the team lead in goals.
