How It Happened
- The game's only goal came in the second half when UNC's Andy Craven found the back of the net in the 57th minute.
- After the goal, Mario Herrera Meraz had the best opportunity to tie the game up, but his blast from just beyond the box rocketed off the crossbar.
- VCU did have it's fair share of opportunities; the Rams outshot the Tar Heels to the tune of 13-9. In the second half alone VCU registered nine shots to UNC's four.

After four consecutive home games to start the season, the Rams will hit the road for a four-game trip starting Thursday, September 11 against nationally-ranked Georgetown. They'll follow that up with a Sunday evening tilt against Virginia on September 15.
