Short Story: Despite Krystal Mayer's goal tying the game in the second half, UMass pushed past VCU on Sunday afternoon with three goals minutes apart. Goalkeeper Kendall Clifton registered eight saves in the cage. 

How It Happened

  • In the first half, Hailey Cockrum put UMass on the board first.
  • On an assist from Jamee Albright, Krystal Mayers made a great play to find the back of the cage and tie the game in the 42nd minute.
  • In the 52nd minute, UMass snapped the tie with a goal from Brooke Sabia.
  • Minutes later, the Minutewomen scored a pair of goals to secure their 4-1 win.
