  • The Short Story: The VCU women's soccer team extended their shutout streak to 375 minutes in a 0-0 draw with a tough Penn team. Emma Kruse posted her fourth shutout in goal for the Black & Gold.
How It Happened
  • Senior Alex Gogolin nearly put the Rams up early, but her header in the sixth minute went off the post.
  • The rest of the first half was a defensive battle with neither team able to create many offensive chances.
  • Junior Gabby Dyer would test the Penn keeper late with blasts, but both were knocked down as the game remained scoreless.
  • With just under two minutes left in the first overtime period, Maren Johansen ripped a blast from 25 yards out, but the Penn keeper was able to make a diving save.
  • Jackie Ernest tried to provide late heroics, but her shot was stopped as the game ended in a scoreless tie.
