BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
  • With the victory, VCU swept the season series with George Mason for the second straight season. The Rams have won 10 straight sets against their longtime in-state rivals.
  • With the win, the Rams guaranteed themselves a winning season for the third consecutive season. It's the first time that's happened since the Rams posted four straight winning campaigns from 1982-85.
QUOTABLES FROM COACH JODY ROGERS
  • "We came out ready tonight and it showed. We played well, and that allowed us to play a lot of girls tonight, which is nice. It's really nice to end the weekend with a win and keep ourselves in the mix of the A-10 race."
  • "The girls were still a little bummed about last night, and I think that helped motivate them to come out and focus tonight."
  • "We served aggressively and pass the ball well, which is really important for us."
WHAT'S NEXT
The Rams will wrap up regular season play on Saturday, Nov. 15 when they host Davidson at the Verizon Wireless Arena at the Stuart C. Siegel Center at 2 p.m., in a match that will likely have serious A-10 Tournament seeding implications.
