  • The Short Story: The VCU men's soccer continued it's dominating defensive effort with its fifth straight shutout in a 2-0 road victory over George Washington. The Rams are now the only unbeaten team in the Atlantic 10 and haven't given up a goal in over 572 minutes, dating back to October 11. In seven conference games, the Black & Gold have allowed just one goal.
How It Happened
  • VCU got on the board early as Devon Fisher deposited his third goal of the season after being set up by Mario Herrera Meraz and Jose Manel in the seventh minute to give the Rams a 1-0 advantage.
  • The Black & Gold continued to pound the net, firing off 10 shots in the first half.
  • In the 62nd minute, Fisher found Mario Herrera Meraz, who found the top right corner to extend VCU's lead to 2-0.

  • "I thought we played pretty well on the day," said head coach Dave Giffard. "We created some very good opportunities, played a bunch of guys and scored two goals. We'll take it and move on to the next one against SLU on Friday night."
