Samantha Borges joined VCU in 2025 as Assistant Director of Business Services. She is tasked with processing purchase orders for all sports and administrative units, processing hotel and other contracts, payment of officials, assisting in annual budgeting meetings, and other duties.
 
Prior to VCU, Borges worked as a graduate assistant within the Bryant Athletic Department, where she assisted with budgeting, processed invoices and purchase orders, coordinated gameday operations and assisted in team travel arrangements for 25 Division I sports programs.
 
Borges served as Assistant Director of Basketball Analytics and Operations for Hartford’s men’s basketball program in 2022-23, where she researched and deployed various data to evaluate players, opponents and potential recruits, and also managed team travel, meals, summer academics, housing and other necessities for the men’s basketball team. As an undergraduate, Borges worked as a team manager for the Hawks for four seasons (2019-23). She was also a program ambassador during the 2019-20 campaign, in which she was responsible for analyzing player statistics, building recruitment files and delivery of scouting reports.
 
A native of Westwood, Massachusetts, Borges received her undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Hartford in 2023. She added an MBA from Bryant in 2025.
