Ryleigh Sullivan

Ryleigh Sullivan joined the VCU Sports Medicine staff in September of 2024. She manages the daily healthcare of the volleyball and golf teams. These daily duties include injury and illness management, evaluations, treatments and rehabilitation protocols. 

Prior to VCU, she was the resident athletic trainer at Virginia Tech for the men’s and women’s swim and dive team from June 2022 to June, 2024. During this time, she helped the VT men's team to its first NCAA top 10 finish, including an individual NCAA Championship. She assisted the team through the regular season into ACC Championships, Diving Zones, NCAA Championships and US Open. 

Sullivan graduated from Virginia Tech in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in Human Nutrition, Food, and Exercise. Following that, she went on to get a Masters in Athletic Training from Temple. While at Temple, she worked with Owls' football and women’s volleyball teams, as well as Father Judge High School. Her final clinical rotation brought her back to Virginia Tech, working with the swim and dive and women’s lacrosse teams. 

She is a licensed athletic trainer by the Virginia Board of Health Professionals and a Certified member of the National Athletic Trainers Association. She holds certifications and licenses for Structure & Function Dry Needling (Level 1).
