Liz French serves as the Executive Coordinator to the Director of Athletics at VCU, providing executive level support while overseeing the daily operations of the athletics administrative office. She assists with departmental events, coordinates administrative initiatives, and serves as a primary point of contact for VCU Athletics.

Before assuming her current role, French joined VCU Athletics' Human Resources and Student-Athlete Services Department in July 2021 after helping establish the university's women's lacrosse program during its formative years.

She was a member of the Rams' women's lacrosse coaching staff from 2015 to 2021, serving six seasons as an assistant coach. As a member of the program's inaugural coaching staff, French played an integral role in building the team from the ground up and contributing to several historic milestones. In 2018, VCU finished 7-11 overall and 5-4 in Atlantic 10 Conference play, earning the program's first-ever Atlantic 10 Championship berth. The Rams also defeated seven-time defending conference champion UMass, snapping the Minutewomen's NCAA-record 61-game conference winning streak. French helped develop a defensive unit that produced the program's first winning conference record, set a school record with 192 caused turnovers, and held opponents to single-digit goals in four contests.

During the 2017 season, VCU more than doubled its win total from its inaugural campaign, tied for sixth in the Atlantic 10 after being projected to finish 10th, and earned three conference victories. French also coached goalkeeper Ria Peralta, who ranked among the nation's leaders in save percentage.

A native of Sykesville, Maryland, French earned a bachelor's degree in Accounting from Shippensburg University in 2014. A four-year starter for the Raiders' women's lacrosse team, she was a four-time First Team All-Conference selection and earned a spot in the 2014 IWLCA Division II North/South Senior All-Star Game. She also served as the women's lacrosse representative on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and was president of Tau Kappa Women's Athletic Honors Sorority.

French concluded her collegiate career among Shippensburg's all-time leaders in ground balls (158), draw controls (167), and caused turnovers (63). She started all 67 games of her career while totaling 11 goals and five assists.
