Kacie Heron joined VCU's sports medicine staff in the fall of 2024. Kacie acts as the full-time athletic trainer overseeing the women's soccer program. 

Prior to VCU, Kacie served as an athletic trainer at Morehead State, where she primarily covered women's soccer, rifle and cheer, as well as provided additional coverage for the baseball team during their 2024 spring season. 

Originally from Mechanicsville, Va., Kacie completed her undergraduate degree at Virginia Tech, with a B.S. in Human Nutrition, Foods, & Exercise. During her time at Virginia Tech, Kacie worked as a student athletic training aide with the swim & dive team. Kacie then pursued her Masters in Athletic Training from Virginia, where she worked with the women's soccer, wrestling, volleyball, and track & field programs. 

Kacie is a certified member of the National Athletic Training Association and is a licensed Athletic Trainer in the state of Virginia. Kacie also holds a specialization in Corrective Exercise and Performance Enhancement from the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
