Emma Foster joined VCU in January 2024 as an Academic Coach and Tutor Coordinator. Prior to her current role, she served as an English teacher at Meadowbrook High School in Chesterfield.

At VCU, she helps students one-on-one to enhance study strategies, time management and other academic skills. In addition, she supervises a team of 50-plus tutors and study hall monitors, serving as the primary point of contact for day-to-day operations.

Foster graduated from VCU in December 2018 with a B.A. in English and a minor in History. Additionally, she earned an M.S. in Teaching Secondary English in May 2020. She previously worked as a consultant and shift leader in VCU’s Writing Center while pursing her master’s degree.
