Cassidy Guyton

Cassidy Guyton joins the VCU Cross Country program as a Graduate Assistant for the 2025 season. In addition to her role as a coach, Guyton is also pursuing a Master's Degree in Sport Leadership from the VCU Center for Sport Leadership.

Previously, she served as an assistant coach for Cross Country and Track and Field at Albemarle High School in Charlottesville, Va. where she coached several athletes to the NXR Southeast Regional Championships. In that race, four men runners finished under 16:30 which included top-10 finishes in school history by Eli Phillips and JT Hillis. Phillips also finished 19th in the Foot Locker South Regional XC Championship as an unattached runner. 

Guyton spent three seasons with the Rams as an athlete before making the move to coaching. As a runner, Guyton competed in the NCAA Cross Country Championships as a Junior and finished with a season-best 23:11.8 in the 6k. She also had a strong performance at the Atlantic 10 XC Championship, running 23:30.8 in that race. As a Sophomore, Guyton competed in all five races for VCU and set a 6k PR in the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh. In addition to her course accolades, Guyton was also named to the A-10 All-Academic Team.
