BROWN ACHIEVES A TOP-50 FINISH AND SETS A PERSONAL RECORD AT THE 46TH ANNUAL PAUL SHORT RUN

Team Scoring: 1-Stony Brook 127, 2-Columbia 176, 3-Buffalo 205… 18-Swarthmore 525, 19-VCU 552, 20-Amherst 555

The short story: Senior Ashely Brown finishes 36th out of 368 runners and sets at personal record. Freshmen Reyna Vazquez-Miller, Kassandra Aulenbach and Emma Sudol make impressive marks in their first 6k.  

THE FINISH LINE

  • Two Rams secured a top-100 finish and two others finished in the top-200. 

  • Senior Ashley Brown led the Rams and finished 36th overall with a time of 21:58.9. Brown beat her previous time of 22:20.5, setting a new personal record. 

  • Senior Judith White placed in the top-100 and finished 80th overall with a time of 22:28.3.

  • Senior Delaney Savedge made her way into the top-200 and finished with a time of 22:48.5.

  • Freshman Reyna Vazquez-Miller secured a top-200 finish in her 6k debut, finishing with a time 22:51.7. 

  • Freshmen Kasandra Aulenbach and Emma Sudol rounded out the meet for the Rams, finishing with times of 23:25.2 and 24:07.2 in their 6k debuts. 

  • The Rams finished 19th out of 44 teams with an average time of 2:34:51. This is a 6 spot improvement from their 25th place finish last year.

"Overall we did a great job. Everyone is continuing to progress in a positive direction and push through the obstacles that have been thrown at us. They maintained composure and competed well in a big meet today. The team is very excited and motivated as they prepare for the conference and regional meet."
