Senior defender Megan Dell was named the Virginia Lottery Student-Athlete of the Week after her two-goal performance in the Atlantic 10 quarterfinal game against George Mason. She was the only player to score for the Rams, whose offensive attack struggled through much of the first half.

"At half time we always come together and try to pick each other up. We just needed one goal and we win the half," said Dell.

The first goal came on a free kick shortly after the second half began, which tied the game at one a piece.

Her second came with only a minute remaining in regulation. Unmarked, Dell leapt in front of a corner kick heading for the far post and managed to knock in a header. It was the second game winning goal of Dell's collegiate career.

"This game really meant everything to me personally because if we lost, it was over for me as a senior," Dell said.

Dell was also named to the Atlantic 10 Conference All-Academic team as a Biomedical Engineering major with minors in both Chemistry and Mathematics.

Favorite VCU soccer memory: I really like spending time with my team, especially when we're traveling because we're all together and there's nothing else going on.

Favorite Richmond restaurant: Joe's Inn. I have a family friend who always orders the Joe's Inn Greek salad and the eight and a half Joe's Pizza.

Favorite holiday: Growing up it was always Halloween because my dad was the scary guy on the block, and kids would always run from the house. Now I really enjoy winter time because I get to see my whole family.

Halloween Costume: Super Heroes.

Favorite pro athlete: My brother. He's played on many different pro teams. I've also always looked toward the more calm players like Gerrard.
