RICHMOND, Va. – VCU freshman midfielder Cristin Granados was named Colonial Athletic Association Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week on Monday after helping the Rams to a 4-0 victory at Towson over the weekend.

Granados put the game out of reach, giving VCU a 3-0 lead with her second goal of the year in the 62nd minute Sunday against the Tigers.  The Cartago, Costa Rica native also collected her first career assist on sophomore Courtney Conrad's goal in the 61st minute.  On the week, Granados fired four shots, including three on goal.

VCU outshot its opponents 41-11 in a pair of league matches last week, picking up a win and a tie.  The Rams have allowed just 12 goals (1.0 gaa) all year, which is the second-fewest in the CAA, and have given up just five in their last seven outings.  The Black & Gold has not surrendered a goal in the last 263 minutes, while Sunday's victory was the fourth time this season a VCU opponent was held scoreless.

The Rams return home to Sports Backers Stadium for a pair of CAA matches next weekend.  VCU hosts UNC Wilmington on Friday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m., before entertaining Georgia State on Oct. 9.
