Bryce Gatling joined the VCU Volleyball staff as a volunteer assistant in the Fall of 2022.
A Virginia native, Gatling was a standout middle blocker for George Mason from 2017-20. In 2020, Gatling earned All-Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) Second Team honors following a senior campaign in which he hit .544 with 93 kills and averaged 0.82 blocks per set to help lead to the Patriots to a 10-7 mark prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. He helped lift Mason to 17-win campaigns in both 2018 and 2019.
Gatling earned his Bachelor of Arts in Environmental & Sustainable Studies from George Mason in 2020 and later spent 18 months working in the school’s Office of Sustainability as a communications specialist. He is currently pursing at Master of Environmental Studies from VCU.
