AnnaBelle Tomei joined the VCU Volleyball staff as an assistant coach in 2024 following a successful five-year collegiate playing career. She will assist the coaching staff in all aspects, notably in recruiting operations. 
 
A native of West Chicago, Ill., Tomei appeared in all 30 matches and handed out a team-high 561 assists as a setter for VCU in 2023. She also served up a team-best 35 aces and was credited with 1.71 digs per set, as she helped lead the Black and Gold to an Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament semifinal appearance.
 
She also enjoyed a standout four-year tenure at Oakland from 2019-22, where she distributed nearly 1,900 assists, sixth-most in school history.
 
Tomei, who completed her graduate certificate in Media and Leadership at VCU in 2024, will pursue a postgraduate degree from the Center for Sport Leadership.
