Aaron Gordon was elevated to assistant coach in June of 2021 following one season as a graduate assistant for the Rams.

“Promoting Aaron Gordon from our graduate assistant to our new assistant coach was an easy decision,” Rogers said. “He has been, and will continue to bring a high-level enthusiasm, passion, and loyalty to our Ram family.”

A Florida native, Gordon served as a graduate assistant for the Rams in 2020-21, and helped VCU to a 13-5 record, as well as a berth in the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship Match. Gordon led VCU’s serve receive passing efforts and assisted in scouting reports, as well as a multitude of administrative duties.

Prior to VCU, Gordon spent four years as a student manager for national powerhouse Florida. During his tenure, the Gators forged a 110-18 record and reached the NCAA Tournament four times, including a National Championship Match appearance in 2017.

He has also served as an assistant coach in the Gainesville Juniors Volleyball & Ocean Bay Volleyball Club, as well as a player-coach for Florida’s men’s club volleyball program during his undergraduate tenure.

Gordon earned a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management from Florida in 2020 and is on pace to complete his Masters of Sport Leadership from VCU’s Center for Sport Leadership in December of 2021.
